Alberta Child Safety Seat Training Modules

When taken by Parents and Caregivers

The training modules provide information on the correct use of child safety seats, booster seats and seat belts for children. This ensures that parents, caregivers, and professionals have the materials to make informed decisions when transporting children in their care.

When taken by Government of Alberta, Human Services and Alberta Health Services

The Alberta Child Car Seat Training Modules have been designed to provide necessary information to government employees and enforcement partners. These specialized modules contain core information on the safe transportation of children.

Training Materials for Enforcement Members
The Enforcement Presentation (pdf) , also available as a handout version (pdf) , and guide (pdf) provides basic regulatory information and hands-on experience with child safety seats and booster seats, including identification of chargeable offences. After the presentation, participants will:

  • Understand the basics of correct use, installation and child placement for rear-facing and forward-facing child safety seats and booster seats.
  • Understand the appropriate sections under Vehicle Equipment Regulations for child safety seat and booster seat enforcement.
