- Updated safety regulations for the manufacturing of child safety seats sold in Canada came into effect January 1, 2012. The most recent update aligns some Canadian elements with the U.S., and incorporates new and unique Canadian testing requirements.
Updated Rear-facing Resources - July 2011
- AORP updated four key rear-facing resources to support parents to keep babies in the safer, rear-facing position as long as possible, in a child safety seat right for their weight and height. Babies should stay rear-facing until they are at least one year of age AND 22 lb (10 kg) AND walking.
Option 4 Update - March 2011
- This update explains the Option 4 program and gives information on:
- Sustaining an Option 4 program for areas actively involved,
- Starting an Option 4 program in areas interested in this effective enforcement-education partnership, or
- Stopping an existing Option 4 program.
